Ever since I was a little girl, my family has always enjoyed making the trip up to Artist Point. Since having my own children, I have dreamed of taking family photos at this incredibly scenic destination! The Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest surrounding the ski area is considered to be one of the most beautiful alpine areas in North America. Many visitors to the area come to Artist Point, which is at the very end of the Mt. Baker Highway and features stunning views of Mount Baker and Mount Shuksan, as well as access to a variety of trails.

Here is another shot of Picture Lake. These kiddos are the sweetest best friends! Once we were done here, we got back in our cars and drove up the super short distance to Artist Point.

This absolutely epic spot is just a 2 minute walk from the parking lot, which is perfect for squirely toddlers. Our timing was perfect, we had arrived at Artist Point just at the begining of golden hour. I can't get over this gorgeous golden light!

How cute is this family!? I love them so much. I have been friends with Sam and John since I was in highschool. We have been through so much in the decade + we have been friends! From being roommates, traveling, engagements, to having children, we have been there for eachother through it all.

After we were done in that first spot, we walked just a few feet and found this absolutely EPIC view. The golden sun was shining over the mountain and creating a wonderful back lit glow effect to my subjects. Again, so great for little kiddos that don't tolerate so much hiking

The photo above is of my friend's family. We had been trying to find a time all summer long to make the trip up to Artist Point. We finally settled on a date mid October, and luckily so because Artist Point closed the following week! As is tradition in my family, we first stopped at beautiful Picture Lake to snap some photos. We even saw a bride and groom getting their photos taken in this spot before it was our turn!

As the sun continued to set, the lighting got even better. I snapped this gorgeous photo of Sam and her daughter sharing an intimate snuggle, drowning in that beautiful golden light.

In 2025, I will be offering full session and mini sessions up at Artist Point. If you are interested in either, please reach out to me using my contact form or by instagram DM. We can chat about pricing and dates.
Thank you for reading and I hope you have a beautiful day!
